Originally from the DMV area, King Sis began singing and dancing at the age of 7 in her grandfather's church in Alexandria, VA. Growing up in a musical family, and having been taught to play the classical piano at the age of 8 by her cousin, DT Lamont, songwriting and performing came naturally to her. She became interested in the recording arts after completing her first job at the age of 9 doing voiceover work for BET commercials.

She first sang on studio recordings in a high school acapella group, and continued her early career with commissioned projects such as theme music for local radio shows, comedians, and special programs or events. While studying art in college, she started two gospel groups named REIGN and His City, and began performing across the DMV area. In 2015, Sis won 1st place at Amateur night at the legendary Apollo theater in NYC, and it solidified her belief that she was born to perform. After moving to Los Angeles, Sis continued her performing career as a world-touring background vocalist (working with prominent artists such as Kelela) before beginning her solo career.

Her songwriting centers around love, self-affirmation, and a return to the natural world in a modern life filled with virtual realities.
